Reflections on CTS at 40: John Hausladen

Happy anniversary CTS! What a great milestone to be hitting 40 years.

It was a tremendous privilege for me to be asked to be on CTS's executive committee. The biggest thing is the people you meet. I remember Richard Murphy Jr., who invited me on; he was chair of the executive committee. What a great person, what a great mentor, what a great encourager!

It was like, for me, the place for what I would call the highest-level thinking. So much of what we talk about in our day jobs is operational and short term, but to be part of a team talking about the bigger picture issues—and to see what CTS has done to bring knowledge and discussion forums to the broader industry.

CTS, in its essence, is helping people go from where they are to the next stage. So whether they're new in their career, or they're in graduate studies, or they're advancing high-level research, helping people do better and more is pretty noble, and it was fun to be part of that.
