Reflections on CTS at 40: Bob Johns

Bob Johns presented the 2026 Robert C. Johns Research Partnership Award at the 2026 CTS Annual Meeting. Excerpts from his speech are presented here and in this video.

I want to commend Kyle, Gina, and the CTS team for doing the work to celebrate 40 years! They've put many resources into developing information and products that point to the accomplishments of CTS over these 40 years.

When you get to my age, you realize how much gets forgotten. What they've done means this information is not only available now; it'll be available forever. I congratulate you on the recognition of those 40 years.

If you want to learn more about the origins of CTS, there's a video of Gina moderating Laurie [McGinnis, a former CTS director], Kyle, and myself talking about those early years. It was really enjoyable to do.
