Vehicle Following (Platooning) Using CCD Cameras - Phase II

Principal Investigator(s):

Project summary:

I propose the continuation of our research on a vision-based control scheme for vehicle following. The objective is to keep a safe distance between vehicles that follow a leading vehicle. In particular, a tracking system tracks in real-time several features of the vehicle ahead. These displacements are fed to an adaptive computer control system that regulates the brake and the throttle. Several simulations and experiments have been used in order to verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithms.
