Principal Investigator(s):

Co-Investigators:

  • Lance Neckar, Former Professor, Landscape Architechture
  • James Pettinari, Former Research Fellow, Center for Sustainable Building Research

Project summary:

Using the method of the case study, this study seeks to build on our previous transit research sponsored by the Center for Transportation Studies by developing a user-friendly pattern book of annotated transit related prototypical designs at the site and district scale that address concerns for personal safety. In addition to the design of station and stops at the site level, their location and their connections to the districts, cities, or neighborhoods in the metro region will be explored. The design drawings will be annotated with statements that identify the personal safety principles used to inform the design.
