Mn/DOT Cambridge Telecommunicating Center Evaluation Study

Project summary:

The goals of the new Mn/DOT telecommuting center include: reduced travel on metro roads with accompanying reduction in fuel consumption and accidents; improved employee performance and satisfaction bring improved employer satisfaction; positive impacts on the economy and human capital of Cambridge. This evaluation will work to determine which goals are met and where improvement can be made. The project will include the following methodology to accomplish this purpose: (1) surveys from employees and employers, and local businesses survey; (2) analysis of community tax and fee records, site cost records; (3) site usage data; (4) summary data from US West on increased phone traffic in Cambridge. We anticipate findings that will be useful in determining the success of the project and whether the project can be replicated elsewhere.
