Seongjin Choi’s research centers on advancing artificial intelligence for next-generation transportation systems, with particular emphasis on machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and large-scale spatiotemporal modeling. His work spans urban mobility data analytics, physics-informed machine learning, and AI-enabled decision support for transportation systems management and operations and connected and automated vehicles. Through these efforts, his research aims to build scalable, reliable, and sustainable AI systems that enhance the efficiency and resilience of urban transportation networks.
Choi received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees in civil and environmental engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Engineering, and Geo- Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Previously, Choi was a postdoctoral researcher at McGill University in Canada.
