Kenneth Bartlett is a professor of human resource development in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development at the University of Minnesota. He also serves as the co-director of the Workforce Development and Research Lab.
Bartlett graduated in parks and recreation management from Lincoln University in New Zealand before working in a variety of public sector management positions in both New Zealand and the United States. He has a PhD in human resource development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research agenda focuses on the process and outcomes of human resource development. Bartlett’s recent research has been directed to issues with workforce planning and development for transportation agencies. He also consults with organizations to provide research-supported solutions for organization change, leadership development, workforce planning, and performance improvement. He received the Outstanding Scholar Award from the Academy of Human Resource Development in 2023, and previously served as editor for Advances in Developing Human Resources.
