Project summary:

With emerging 5G, teleoperated AVs where a human operator remotely drives an "autonomous" vehicle (AV) has gained momentum as an alternative for leveraging AVs to tackle societal challenges. In this project, the research team will develop novel mathematical models, edge-assisted control, and graph learning algorithms to support teleoperations of AVs. The proposed project builds on the combined expertise of the research team and leverages the unique resources at the University of Minnesota. It will lay the foundation for future funding opportunities and help position the U as a leader in AV teleoperation research.
