Project summary:
Building on both separate and shared experiences, the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Minnesota collaborated with Howard/Stein-Hudson Associates, Inc. to form a team that dedicated to answering NCHRP's outlined questions and produce the deliverables requested in Project 20-07, Task 205: Project Delivery Workforce Management Review. The team completed this task through reviewing literature, conducting interviews, developing an agenda for a workshop with human resource and operations staff, planning an agenda for a subsequent executive level workshop, and facilitating the workshop of human resource and operations staff. The team firmly believed that a workshop that builds on a literature review and interview results was the most effective way to thoroughly share experiences and focus on the most promising ideas that could form the basis for a tool-box of approaches on workforce management and planning for state DOTs.
