MnDOT Design Bid Build Quality Management Process Manual Training Project

Principal Investigator(s):

Jim Grothaus, Former Sr Dir, Tech Assist, Center for Transportation Studies

Project summary:

In FY2011, the MnDOT Office of Technical Support Pre-Letting Section developed a quality management process manual as a provision for project activity within the design/bid/build environment. To support MnDOT's implementation of the Quality Management Process Manual, this associated training project offers curricula content development and delivery. The Quality Management Process Manual training project features quality criteria, process sequences, and defined roles and responsibilities. The project also includes multiple and clear reference documentation samples. Through this training project a design practitioner may increase his or her awareness of the MnDOT Quality Management Process Manual's salient and prescriptive quality concepts, strategies, and practices. This training project reinforces quality sensitivity across the design/bid/build Planning, Scoping, Design, and Letting phases. The purpose of this training project is to develop and deliver a learner-oriented Quality Management Process Manual lesson plan and an interactive teaching curriculum.
