Principal Investigator(s):

Jim Grothaus, Former Sr Dir, Tech Assist, Center for Transportation Studies

Project summary:

The Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) will deliver two interactive and "hands-on" two-day Context Sensitive Solutions workshops to a wide-range of MnDOT staff and stakeholders. The primary audience for the training sessions will be MnDOT project managers and staff involved with multimodal project planning and delivery. MnDOT construction, operations, and maintenance staff are also invited to participate. Representatives from selected stakeholder groups will be included as participants and presenters in order to integrate a range of expertise, experiences, and viewpoints throughout the workshops. Additionally, CTS will deliver two interactive and "hands-on" 2.5-day workshops on Advanced Flexibility in Design to MnDOT staff and select stakeholders. While the primary audience for the training sessions includes multimodal project managers, design staff, and specialists, participation is also sought from construction, operations, and maintenance staff who can share their experiences, perspectives, and concerns related to the application of flexibility in design.
