Project summary:
The Minnesota Council on Transportation Access (MCOTA) was established in 2010 to study, evaluate, oversee, and make recommendations to improve the coordination of transportation services provided to the transit public. This project will study the economic benefits of selected cases in transportation coordination implemented in Minnesota. The economic benefits of transportation services in Minnesota have not been quantified in previous research. In 2011, MCOTA developed a report, titled "Successful Local Transportation Coordination Case Studies." For this project, the researchers will develop a conceptual framework of "value engineering" in transportation coordination, work with MCOTA to identify 3 to 4 exemplary Minnesota cases, and (3) apply methods to assess financial and economic benefits of these selected cases.
