Imran Hayee's research areas of interest are communication systems, signal processing, and intelligent transportation systems. He holds 19 United States patents and has published over 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
Hayee is an IEEE senior member and is recipient of UMD's distinguished research award. He has been a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth since 2004. Before joining the University of Minnesota Duluth, he worked in industry including Tyco Submarine Systems and a start-up company for almost six years.
Hayee received his BSEE from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, and his MSEE and PhD degrees from the University of Southern California.
