Lauren Linderman's research is focused on cyber-physical systems to improve the long-term performance of structures or limit their response during transient events, such as earthquakes or strong winds. Her primary areas of interest include structural monitoring, vibration mitigation strategies, wireless sensor systems, and data acquisition techniques. Current efforts focus on leveraging the computational and sensing capabilities of distributed sensor systems for improving the long-term performance of civil infrastructure. These efforts combine lab-scale experiments and field studies with fundamental concepts in control theory, structural behavior, and wireless systems.

Linderman received a BS in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD and MS in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
