Towards Zero Deaths (TZD), FFY22-FFY23

Summary

Traffic safety and saving people’s lives using Minnesota’s transportation systems is a major focus of Minnesota’s Departments of Transportation (MnDOT), Public Safety (DPS), and Health (MDH), the US Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA), the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS), and a number of private sector foundations, non-profits, and advocacy groups. In 2003, the Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) program was formed to coordinate and focus traffic safety initiatives in Minnesota. Through a contract with the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) within DPS, CTS provides ongoing administrative support and coordination for the TZD program.
