Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) Admin/Outreach, 2015-2016

Summary

Traffic safety and saving people's lives using Minnesota's transportation systems is a major focus of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS), and Minnesota Department of Health, the US Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, CTS, and a number of private sector foundations, non-profits, and advocacy groups.

In 2003, the Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) program was formed to coordinate and focus traffic safety initiatives in Minnesota. At the request of MnDOT and the Office of Traffic Safety within DPS, CTS provides ongoing administrative support and coordination for the TZD program.
