Telecommunications Networks, Information Technology and Transportation Research Initiative

Principal Investigator(s):

Lee Munnich, Senior Fellow (Retired), Humphrey School of Public Affairs

Project summary:

The proposed research explores the link between transportation, telecommunications and information technology. Existing national research on telecommunications and information technology suggests that the pace of technological change and its impacts on travel behavior, leisure patterns, and the work place is poorly understood. Of crucial interest to the Minnesota Office of Technology (OT) and Mn/DOT is an examination of the interplay between transportation, information and communications technology infrastructures and the development of Mn/DOT's role in the emerging state information and communications policy developed by OT.
