Principal Investigator(s):Gina Baas, Associate Director, Center for Transportation Studies
The Minnesota Freight Advisory Committee (MFAC) provides a forum for exchanging ideas and addressing of issues among the private sector, MnDOT, and other agencies to develop and promote a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible freight transportation system for the state. Under the direction of staff from the MnDOT Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations (FCVO), CTS provides administrative support for the MFAC and its activities.
In FY17, CTS administrative support includes: coordinating the membership of committee members, ex-officio members, and friends/associates of the committee; supporting Executive Committee planning meetings and activities; serving as liaison between the MFAC and University of Minnesota departments and colleges that conduct freight and logistics research and education; coordinating and planning four MFAC business meetings and one topical forum; producing an MFAC annual report and developing one freight-related white paper on a topic identified in coordination with the MFAC Executive Committee.
