Project summary:

The Minnesota Freight Advisory Committee (MFAC) provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and addressing of issues between the private sector, Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), and other agencies to develop and promote a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible freight transportation system for the state. Under the direction of staff from MnDOT's Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations (FCVO), the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) provides administrative support for the MFAC and its activities. In FY18, this support will include: coordinating the membership of committee members, ex officio members, and friends/associates of the committee; supporting Executive Committee planning meetings and activities; serving as liaison between the MFAC and University of Minnesota departments and colleges that conduct freight and logistics research and education; coordinating and planning four MFAC business meetings; producing an MFAC annual report; developing one freight-related white paper on a topic identified in coordination with the MFAC Executive Committee; producing and distributing a bimonthly MFAC electronic news bulletin; and assisting with an MFAC outreach meeting in greater Minnesota.
