Ingrid Schneider’s research addresses leisure travel and transportation behaviors across a variety of destinations and consumers. Guided by a social-psychological perspective, her work informs management, planning, and policy decisions at local, state, and federal levels. Her recent work has addressed greenspace access, travel constraints, and robots and automated system acceptance.

Schneider earned a bachelor’s degree in technical communications and a master’s degree in forestry from the University of Minnesota. She earned her PhD from Clemson University. Prior to coming to the University of Minnesota, Schneider was an associate professor at Arizona State University. She is an elected fellow in the Academy of Leisure Sciences and American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration.
