Di Zhu’s research focuses on geographic information science (GIScience), geospatial artificial intelligence, spatial networks, and urban complexities. Zhu is specifically interested in using spatiotemporal computational models and methods to study human-environment interactions in urban systems regarding transportation, mobility, regional planning, public health, and demographics.
Zhu holds a PhD in cartology and GIScience, a BS in geographic information systems, and a BEc in economics all from Peking University. Zhu was a visiting researcher at the SpaceTimeLab, Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering, University College London.
