The newly published Minnesota Freight Advisory Committee (MFAC) 2023 Annual Report examines the vital role freight transportation plays to ensure a robust, diverse, and resilient Minnesota economy.
In particular, MFAC has been a strong voice for freight early in the process of planning for major corridor redevelopment projects involving I-94 in the Twin Cities and I-35 in Duluth. This year's report also highlights ways MFAC members have continued to contribute to the development of the Minnesota State Freight Plan, which helps the state secure additional funding for freight projects and focuses efforts on priority freight improvements.
The mission of MFAC is to advise MnDOT and other public agencies and officials on the condition of Minnesota’s multimodal freight transportation system and recommend freight policies, programs, and investments to support the state’s economic competitiveness and to enhance safety.
