CTS Student Awards

Richard P. Braun Transportation Scholarship

The Richard P. Braun Transportation Scholarship is given to University of Minnesota undergraduate students pursuing degrees related to transportation who have demonstrated academic merit and leadership skills. The scholarship honors Richard P. Braun's leadership in transportation within the Minnesota Department of Transportation and for founding CTS.


Matthew J. Huber Award

The Matthew J. Huber Award for Excellence in Transportation Research and Education is given to University of Minnesota graduate students demonstrating outstanding academic achievement in engineering, science, and technology fields. The award is named in honor of the late Professor Emeritus Matthew J. Huber in recognition of his long and valuable contribution to the teaching and study of transportation.


John S. Adams Award

The John S. Adams Award for Excellence in Transportation Research and Education is given to University of Minnesota graduate students demonstrating outstanding academic achievement in policy and planning fields. The award is named in honor of Professor Emeritus John S. Adams, a significant contributor to transportation-related research, education, and outreach activities and a long-time supporter of CTS.


TRB Student Travel Reimbursement Program

As a part of an effort to support students in transportation, CTS provides funding for University of Minnesota graduate students to attend the national Transportation Research Board (TRB) annual meeting in Washington, DC, held in January of each year. Students selected will each receive up to $1,500 for conference expenses, including travel.
