Co-Investigators:

  • Mark Snyder, Former University Researcher, Civil, Environmental and Geo-Engineering

Project summary:

This will be the final year for a project started in November of 1992 to perform in-situ characterization of paving materials and assist in the installation and inspection of instrumentation at the Minnesota Road Research Project. Past work has focused on the testing and analysis of the subgrade materials and the installation and inspection of the instrumentation. In the coming year, the analysis of FWD testing on the base materials and the final paved surfaces will be completed along with the post-construction testing and verification of the instrumentation. Documentation of efforts to develop a strain gage will be completed in addition to a preliminary report on the post-construction sensor testing.
