Summary
In 2024, the Minnesota Legislature considered introducing a clean transportation standard, also known as a low-carbon fuel standard (LCFS), aimed at reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector. Although the bill did not pass, it may be revisited. This analysis reviews literature on the factors affecting gasoline prices, including the potential impacts of LCFS programs, to help inform future discussions on this topic.
