About the Event

Larry Zanko and Sara Post, researchers at the Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI) at the University of Minnesota Duluth highlighted their recent research on the integration of iron ore (taconite) mining materials and byproducts into pavement repair technologies. Their engaging presentation described lab and field testing of microwave technology and demonstrate a fast-setting pavement patching mix made with taconite tails and other mineral-based components.

This seminar was held in conjunction with a meeting of the CTS Transportation Infrastructure Research Council.
