Steve Wojtkiewicz's main research interests are in the areas of uncertainty quantification and optimization of computational mechanics simulations and the dynamics and control of structural systems. Projects accomplished include the optimization and probabilistic simulation of pavement designs generated by the MEPDG. Current research interests in the area of transportation systems include the use of response modification techniques to extend the fatigue lifetime of aging bridges and the characterization of curling in concrete pavements.
Wojtkiewicz received his B.S.(with honors), M.S., and Ph. D. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1993, 1994, and 2000, respectively. Before joining the University of Minnesota in 2005, he was employed as a senior member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM.
