Dr. Guillermo Narvaez's current research focuses on public participation on local roads policy and finance in Minnesota and on traffic safety policies in Minnesota tribal communities. These projects are funded by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Minnesota Local Road Research Board, and USDOT RITA.
In addition, Dr. Narvaez has carried out research on the sustainability and labeling of tropical agricultural commodities, consumer culture, and social movements. He has also carried out fieldwork in Central America and Southeast Asia. He has a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of California, Irvine, and previously worked as an electronic engineer in the computer, medical, and telecommunications industry.
