Professor, Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics
Demoz Gebre-Egziabher’s research focuses on the development of algorithms and systems for navigation and guidance of aerospace and ground vehicles. He was a McKnight Land Grant professor from 2006–2008 and the 2008 recipient of the George W. Taylor Career Development Award for exceptional contributions to teaching.
Gebre-Egziabher received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona, a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from George Washington University and a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. From 1990 to 1996 he was a commissioned naval officer and served as a System Engineer at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Division of Naval Reactors in Washington D.C. From 1996 to 2002 he was a research assistant and, subsequently, a research associate in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University. Dr. Gebre-Egziabher is registered professional engineer and an instrument-rated pilot.
