John Hourdos, Panagiotis Stanitsas, Gina Baas

John Hourdos, Panagiotis Stanitsas, Gina Baas

Panagiotis Stanitsas is a master’s candidate in the Department of Civil Engineering. He is advised by John Hourdos, director of the Minnesota Traffic Observatory.

Stanitsas studied what he called his "research passion": shockwave propagation. His advisor, John Hourdos, explained that the research analyzed how drivers access high-occupancy toll lanes on I-35W and I-394, and resulted in a tool that MnDOT and other states can use in designing these facilities. "I wish him continued success in scientific curiosity while actually producing something useful," he said.
