“From the Margins to the Mainstream” explores livable community issuesThe Surface Transportation Policy Partnership and the Center for Neighborhood Technology are sponsoring a series of online seminars to explore issues related to creating livable communities. Two seminars in the series “From the Margins to the Mainstream” are available online, and an additional two workshops are planned for winter and spring 2008. On January 30 and 31, the series will continue with a workshop in Orlando, Florida, titled “Getting Transportation & Land Use Decisions that Create Walkable Communities with Mobility Choices.” The goal of this workshop is to help participants identify and create an integrated land use and transportation vision for their community that includes mobility choices for everyone. The workshop is directed at advocates, local officials and planning professionals. Registration and program information is available on the STPP Web site. The Surface Transportation Policy Project is a diverse, nationwide coalition working to ensure safer communities and smarter transportation choices that enhance the economy, improve public health, promote social equity, and protect the environment. STPP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded by individual donations and a range of national and regional foundations. |
