Privacy Issues of ITS
Lee Munnich, Senior Fellow, SLPP, Humphrey School of Public Affairs
Project Summary:The use of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) inevitably raises certain privacy issues. This project examined how current and future ITS technologies might affect personal privacy and recommended a framework to address privacy issues associated with ITS. The study focused on several existing programs to examine how privacy issues were addressed: a teen-driving fatality reduction project, the Vehicle Infrastructure Integration project, and the Stop on Red program.
