In January 2002, a Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) Program Team was formed to coordinate and focus traffic safety initiatives in Minnesota. Representatives from MnDOT, the Department of Public Safety's Office of Traffic Safety, the Minnesota State Patrol, FHWA, NHTSA, county engineers, CTS, and community coalitions are members of this program team. At the request of MnDOT and the Office of Traffic Safety, CTS provides ongoing administrative support, coordination, and outreach activities for the TZD Program Team.
