This issue of the CTS Report focuses on the CTS Twelfth Annual Transportation Research Conference. Approximately 300 persons attended the May 23–24 event in St. Paul. Coverage includes summaries of:
- an opening panel on "The Politics of Ramp Metering" featuring Marc R. Cutler of Cambridge Systematics
- a luncheon presentation on "Transportation Decision-making: Why New Approaches Are Needed," by Dr. Sheldon Edner of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
- A breakfast plenary session titled "Should Minnesota Restrict the Use of Cellular Phones by Drivers of Vehicles?" featuring Daron Van Helden of AAA Minnesota/Iowa, Nic Ward of the Department of Kinesiology, Dee Ryberg of AT&T Wireless Services, and Lieutenant Mark Peterson of the Minnesota State Patrol
- a half-day workshop featuring researchers from the Transportation and Regional Growth Study
