Jan Lucke manages research program activities with an emphasis on the Intelligent Transportation Systems Institute and the Transitway Impacts Research Program. She works closely with faculty and research staff to facilitate connections with sponsoring organizations. Jan is also responsible for reporting to sponsors on research progress, monitoring outcomes of research activities, and contributing to the design and implementation of administrative systems to deliver CTS programs.

Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, Jan was a senior associate at Richardson, Richter & Associates, where she provided public policy and project management consulting services for a variety of transportation-related projects. She also served as a planner for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, where she assisted local governments with designing and implementing waste reduction and recycling programs. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in biology and environmental studies from St. Olaf College and a master of arts degree in public administration from Hamline University. She is a former Chair and treasurer of the Cottonwood Foundation Board of Directors and treasurer and program director for Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) - Minnesota.
