Schively Slotterback’s CTS research projects

Carissa Schively Slotterback’s research focuses on public involvement and decision-making in environmental, land use, and transportation planning processes. She is specifically interested in issues of impact analysis, plan implementation, uncertainty, risk perception, and consensus-building.

Carissa Schively Slotterback is an assistant professor in urban and regional planning at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and resident fellow in the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota. Her research and teaching are focused on public involvement and decision-making in environmental, land use, and transportation planning, with a particular emphasis on collaboration and environmental impact assessment. In addition to her academic work, she has experience as a planner in the public and private sectors and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Schively Slotterback holds a Ph.D. in urban and regional planning from Florida State University and a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from Clemson University.
