Khazanovich's CTS research projects

Lev Khazanovich has been involved in various aspects of concrete pavement research, design, and evaluation, including performance prediction modeling, non-destructive testing, and finite element modeling. He served as a principal investigator or as a senior engineer on several high profile research projects sponsored by the Innovative Pavement Research Foundation (IPRF). On the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) project Development of the 2002 Mechanistic-Empirical Design Guide he served as a member of Rigid Pavement Leadership Team responsible for finite element modeling of rigid pavements and overlays, development of neural networks to predict critical structural responses, subgrade characterization procedures, and development of faulting prediction.

Khazanovich received a B.S. in from the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering (LISI), Russia, in1983, and a Ph.D. in from the University of Illinois in 1994. Before coming to the University of Minnesota in 2003, he was employed as a Research Group Leader at ERES Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc., Champaign, IL.
