Dan Davids
Dan Davids, president of Plug In America, explained how electric vehicles (EVs) will be a major force in reducing our nation’s dependence on petroleum and improving the global environment. The technology is ready, the market is ready, and the infrastructure—the electric grid—is already in place. Davids also provided a brief history of electric cars in America and discussed vehicles coming to the marketplace. Plug In America is a nonprofit coalition formed to raise public awareness of and advocate for plug-in transportation.
Dan Davids' career spans oceanography, aviation, and software design. He is an active environmentalist promoting electric vehicles, solar power, sustainable building, and animal rights. He devotes much of his time to philanthropic and educational work in support of these causes.
This event was sponsored by the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Minnesota.
