A variety of student organizations on campus provide networking and learning opportunities.
Interdisciplinary Transportation Student Organization
ITSO is the transportation student organization at the University of Minnesota, covering all fields of graduate and undergraduate study related to transportation.
American Society of Civil Engineers
Apart from the concrete canoe and steel bridge competitions, the ASCE student chapter at the University of Minnesota organizes and participates in community outreach, professional advancements, and social events. Those range from brown bags that bring students in closer contacts with companies and their projects to fun social events.
Planning Student Organization (PSO)
The Humphrey Institute Planning Student Organization (PSO) strives to provide avenues for educational and professional development through the sharing of resources and ideas, and in cooperation with the Minnesota American Planning Association.
Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
The Society of Women Engineers is a not-for-profit educational and service organization. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
American Society of Mechanical Engineers professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community. They strive to promote and enhance the technical competency and professional well-being of our members, and through quality programs and activities in mechanical engineering, better enable its practitioners to contribute to the well-being of humankind.
Undergraduate Supply Chain and Operations Club
To provide an environment where people can learn about supply chain management and operations management and be provided with further opportunities in the field. The club will educate and encourage students in other majors of the importance of supply chain and operations management.
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)
ACM delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field’s premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
AIAA is the world’s largest professional society devoted to the progress of engineering and science in aviation, space, and defense.
Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE)
IIE is the world’s largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity.
