2005 Midwest Region CSD&S Workshop
Overcoming Roadblocks to Project Excellence

Objectives
In public works today, institutionalizing the Context Sensitive
Design and Solutions (CSD&S) philosophy and principles continues
to be a challenge. This workshop addressed tough questions and
challenges from around the country as well as lessons being learned
and innovations being pursued to further excellence in transportation
project development using CSD&S philosophy and principles.
Format
A combination of keynote general sessions, concurrent tracks,
roundtable discussions, poster exhibits, and mobile (walking and
bus tour) mini-workshops

- CSD&S Education and Outreach (Knowledge Gaps, Skill Development,
New Tools)
- CSD&S Practice (Best Practices, New Paradigms, Emerging
State of the Art)
- CSD&S Acceptance (Institutional Reluctance, Measures of
Performance and Success)
