The Volpe Center's Economic and Industry Analysis Division has ongoing need for top Economists to lead and/or participate in consulting projects and studies assessing effectiveness of national and local transportation policies and programs; analyzing the use of transportation systems, and transportation-related industries, or evaluating investment decisions of national transportation programs. In this role you will provide technical advice to support national program-level policy decisions related to these studies. We place a high priority on doing interesting work that contributes to the public good. For instance, we model the effects of policy options to improve fuel efficiency; use cost benefit analysis to recommend how much Congress should budget for highway improvements; and work with engineers to evaluate high-speed rail options, among other exciting projects.

The Detroit District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Duluth Area Office is pleased to announce a vacancy for an entry level Civil Engineer.
This position is responsible for the office engineering phase of construction activities at our Duluth Area Office. The Duluth Area Office handles an average annual construction workload of $10-15 million dollars. Projects typically include maintenance dredging, breakwater construction/repair, confined disposal facility improvements, harbor construction, and pier and revetment repair/construction.
The selected individual will serve as the Civil Engineer at the Duluth area office with responsibility for the office engineering support services necessary to administer the civil works construction program.
